There are numerous games that are considered to be “graphic trivia puzzles”. Many of the mobile apps are clones of a popular version, designed to cash-in on the popularity of the month. I’m a big fan of developers that take an existing game concept and add tweaks or changes that make the game truly unique.

Hollow Words fits this bill. The objective of this game is to guess the secret word based on the clues that are presented. Words, combined with symbols are how most of the puzzles are shaped, but what’s novel is that they will do things like reduce font sizes or use a “+” or “=” to let you know it’s more than one word. This app is as if I were playing a game of pictionary, except with words and symbols and zero pictures.

I wasn’t really good at playing Pictionary back in the day and sadly, my skills have not improved much, over the years. There are no boosts in this game and each successful puzzle generates corns in your coffers. I’m not really sure what the coins are for, since I can’t visit a virtual store or buy anything with them.

Since I’m drawing blanks on many of these levels, I’ve resorted to using Hollow Words Answers to bail me out, when I get into trouble. The site is pretty straightforward and easy to find the answer you need to keep the game flowing.
